Ford Motor Company teams have moved into new offices inside The Station – the restored Michigan Central Station building in Detroit. Ford occupies three floors of the historic building’s office tower. This move-in marks a significant milestone in the project to restore the Michigan Central Station complex and develop the surrounding area as a center for innovation.
True to the vision of the overall project, Ford Land has created a workspace that will empower and inspire team members. The space is designed to achieve several outcomes including enhancing creativity, fostering a sense of belonging, reducing stress and attracting and retaining talent. Amenities, furniture, artwork, and interior architecture are just some of the ways the environment positively shapes employee well-being.
“Design reflects Ford’s emphasis on innovation”

The flexible site features areas for individual work focus as well as group workspaces including conference rooms and third space lounge and library areas. The space also includes a town hall with seating for 100 team members.
Team members from Ford Model e™ and Integrated Services are highly collaborative in nature and are working to shape the future of mobility. The teams will occupy the 9th and 10th floors of the historic building’s office tower. The 8th floor serves as a flexible, collaboration space for any Ford employee to reserve and use.
These innovation teams join hundreds of Ford colleagues who have been working out of other spaces within the Michigan Central District’s 30-acre footprint. Four key buildings make up the development – The Station, Newlab at Michigan Central, Bagley Mobility Hub and The Factory.
