Dearborn is indeed a regional center for employment, healthcare services, education, shopping, and transportation as well as home to nationally-recognized cultural, environmental and visitor attractions.

Familiar businesses that call Dearborn home include Ford Motor Company, AAA Michigan, Carhartt, The University of Michigan Dearborn, Henry Ford Community College, Oakwood Healthcare System, Fairlane Town Center mall, and the historic Dearborn Inn. The City is home to nearly 4,000 small to large businesses.

Dearborn also is home to two historic and thriving downtowns, east Dearborn and west Dearborn, complete with restaurants, specialty shops and businesses.

Revitalization is occurring in neighborhoods, shopping districts, business centers as well as industrial and manufacturing facilities. Current projects include a $93 million mixed-use development in east Dearborn and an intermodal rail station connecting Detroit and Ann Arbor.
